Chapter 1
Install the Cisco ONS 15310-MA SDH
This product requires short-circuit (overcurrent) protection, to be provided as part of the building

installation. Install only in accordance with national and local wiring regulations. Statement 1045

This unit might have more than one power supply connection. All connections must be removed to

This equipment must be grounded. Never defeat the ground conductor or operate equipment in the
absence of a suitably installed ground conductor. Contact the appropriate electrical inspection
authority or an electrician if you are uncertain that suitable grounding is available. Statement 1024

The DC power Battery Return (BR), or positive terminal, must be grounded at the source end. The DC
power Battery Return input terminal is not connected to the equipment frame, so it is configured as DC-I
as per GR-1089 Issue 4 sec.9.8.3.
Always use the supplied ESD wristband when working with a powered ONS 15310-MA SDH. For

Verify that the proper fuse panel is installed. The fuses rating must not exceed 15A (Fast acting).
