The following example shows sample output for the show cable modem summary total command for
a range of interfaces and upstreams on the Cisco uBR10012 router:

When displaying a summary for a range of ports or cable interfaces, the first port or cable interface (for

example, u0 or c4/0) must be lower-numbered than the second port or interface (for example, u6 or c6/0).
If you specify the higher-numbered port or interface first, the display shows no CMs connected.

Description
The cable interface line card providing the upstream for the CMs.
Total number of CMs, registered and unregistered (but active and currently in
the process of registering), for this interface. This field does not include the
number of offline CMs.
Total number of CMs that have registered and are currently active on this
interface.
Total number of CMs that have registered on this interface. This number
might be different from the Active Modems number if some modems are not
responding to Station Maintenance messages.
Total number of CMs that are active on the upstream and communicating with
the CMTS, but but have not yet completed registration.
Total number of CMs that were online or attempted to register but are no
longer communicating with the CMTS.
Description entered for this upstream using the
command.
