Tip
Depending on the platform and configuration, the output from the show cable tech-support command
can easily exceed the buffers found in most communications programs. To capture this output so it can
be sent to Cisco TAC, use a Telnet program that allows you to capture the output directly to disk.
In Cisco IOS Release 12.3(9a)BC and later releases, the output of the show cable tech-support
command was considerably shortened, so that users with large numbers of online cable modems can
collect the necessary information without monopolizing the console for dozens of minutes. The
following commands appear in this smaller output:

In addition, in Cisco IOS Release 12.3(9a)BC and later releases, you can specify the output for only one
cable interface.
