Hour Meter
Purpose
The digital hour meter displays engine run time and is a
service reminder. When the engine is off, the hour meter
displays the number of operation hours that have been
logged on the traction unit.
After 50 hours and then every 100 hours thereafter (that
is 150, 250, 350, etc.) the screen displays CHG OIL to
remind you to change the engine oil. After every 100
hours, the screen displays SVC to remind you to perform
the other maintenance procedures based on a 100, 200
or 400 hour schedule. These reminders come on starting
three hours prior to the service interval time and flash at
regular intervals for six hours.
Location
The hour meter is mounted below the ignition switch on
the upper frame assembly (Fig. 0866).

How It Works
The digital hour meter is an electronic clock. It is not
repairable or resettable (Fig. 0867).
Testing
The digital hour meter should be replaced if any of the
functions do not work properly. Prior to replacing the
hour meter, verify that 12 volts DC is present across the
two terminals when the engine is running and the ignition
key is in the RUN position. If 12 volts DC is present, and
the meter is not running, replace the meter. If 12 volts is
not present, check the connections.
