A track is a sequence of
position measurements
that's defined by actually
travelling from point A to
point B. That is, a track is
a continuous record—not
individual waypoints—of
the path your vessel has
travelled.

Tracks screen
The TRACKS screen lists your stored tracks by whether the
track is marked for display on the CHART screen; color (for
CHART screen display); name; start date and time of the first
track point; and end date and time of the last track point. A
description of the selected track is also displayed. Until you
store user-defined tracks in the database, the TRACKS screen
will be completely blank.
By pressing the CURSOR PAD left or right, you can sort the
track list by each column (the 961 highlights selected columns
with a vertical stripe):
a sort by the CHT column (marked for display on the
CHART screen) places that track at the top
a sort by the COL column (color) groups same colors
together
a sort by the NAME column lists tracks numerically (if
named by number), then alphabetically
a sort by the START or END columns lists tracks by most
recent date and time
