961 Operations and Reference Manual Rev. D
A blank, properly formatted floppy disk always has enough
space to store your backed-up databases (a Zip disk also has
enough space). If you receive the message "Unable to copy
data to the removable disk," check if the disk is write-pro-
tected: To change the write-protection status of a floppy disk,
use the tip of a pen to switch the position of the small square
on the outer corner of the disk.
The save and restore function isn't designed to be used for your
tracks, charts, alarm settings, or the trip. This data can't be saved to
either type of disk as described above.
Saving a database
To save the waypoint and route or user preference databases
to a disk:
1. Press the STAR key until you reach the SERVICE MENU
screen, then press the DATABASES AND LOG key.
The DATABASE FUNCTION screen appears.
2. Press the SAVE DATABASES key.
