4. Use the KEYPAD to enter the new waypoint's name (or
use the default name, W0000, which automatically names
these waypoints sequentially from W0001 up to W9999).
You can use any characters on the KEYPAD. The name
can be from one to nine characters long, and must be dif-
ferent from all the other waypoint names in the 961's
database. To select a symbol for this waypoint, after
you've finished storing its coordinates here on the CHART
screen, go to the WAYPOINTS screen and edit the way-
point.
5. Press the MAKE NEW WAYPOINT key (or press the
RETURN key to cancel).
The 961 stores the new waypoint and returns to the
CHART screen, showing the navigation information about
this new waypoint in the CURSOR INFO BAR.
To return to your vessel's position, press the VESSEL key.
To instantly save your vessel's present position as an individ-
ual waypoint:
1. While in any 961 function (at any screen), press the SAVE
key.
The VESSEL POSITION dialog box appears.
