Table 8: 961 alarms (Continued)
Description
This alarm means that DGPS corrections
are temporarily unavailable. You can dis-
able the entire DGPS system—see "Set-
ting DGPS operation" starting on page
14-6, or you can just disable the
alarm—see "Changing alarm settings"
starting on page 12-6.
This alarm means there isn't any commu-
nication from the beacon receiver.
This alarm means there's a communica-
tion failure between the 961 and its inter-
nal GPS receiver.
This alarm means that the 961 has
reduced the display brightness because of
excessive heat
This alarm means that the 961 isn't receiv-
ing GPS position information. What
causes lack of position information? Noise
in the satellite signals, antenna problems,
travel under a bridge, and so on. If position
data is unavailable for more than three
seconds, GPS data (position, course, and
speed) is considered unknown. The GPS
position alarm then activates, and the 961
replaces the usual onscreen GPS data
with dashed lines. The
alarm message appears, and the 961
replaces the symbol of your vessel with a
small position-fix circle.
