To sort a chart list, press the CURSOR PAD left or right to
highlight each screen's category by column.
To search on a column category, first press the CURSOR PAD
left or right to highlight the category for which you want to
search, such as chart number, chart name, etc. In the SEARCH
field, type in the first few characters of the data you want to
locate, and the 961 will position the list to show the category
that matches your search.
Displaying detailed chart information
You can display detailed information in an INFO BAR at the
bottom of the following screens:
•
CHARTS IN DATABASE screen
•
HCRF CHARTS IN DATABASE screen
•
HCRF PERMITS screen
•
CHARTS ON DISK screen
After you've pressed the CURSOR PAD up or down to high-
light a chart, press the INFO key to cycle through a series of
INFO BARs of information showing the following (usually, the
first INFO keypress shows chart-source information, but if you
display a CD-ROM's chart files, at first you'll see information
about the contents of that particular CD, and the space left for
additional charts on the 961):
•
chart number and chart source (originator, manufacturer,
source date, and datum)
•
sounding description, chart scale, and water-depth units
as shown on the chart
•
lat/lon for the east-, west-, north-, and southern edges of
the selected chart
•
if you're highlighting an HCRF chart, the INFO BAR dis-
plays the chart series (Navigator or Skipper); expiration
date (Navigator series); correction level (this is the Notice
to Mariners number to which the chart has been cor-
rected); name and date/version of the corresponding
Chart CD; and name and date/version of the correspond-
ing Update CD
