A waypoint is a spe-
cific position defined
by either its lat/lon,
TDs, or distance and
bearing from some
position fix.
961 Operations and Reference Manual Rev. D
On these list screens, you can select each waypoint, route,
track, or avoidance point by pressing the up and down arrows
of the CURSOR PAD; the currently selected waypoint, route,
track, or avoidance point is indicated by a horizontal stripe.
Waypoints screen
The WAYPOINTS screen lists all your stored, named waypoints
by symbol; name; distance and bearing; and lat/lon or TDs (the
distance and bearing fields are completely blank if there's no
position fix). Until you store user-defined waypoints in the
database, the WAYPOINTS screen will be completely blank.
By pressing the CURSOR PAD left or right, you can sort the
waypoint list by each column (the 961 highlights selected col-
umns with a vertical stripe):
a sort by the symbol column (not titled) lists waypoints by
similar symbols
a sort by the NAME column yields an alphabetical list
a sort by the DISTANCE or BRG (bearing) columns lists
waypoints in order of distance or bearing from your
present position
