Chapter 8 - Creating Routes
Sorting the list of routes
Page 8-6
Marking a route to accept SAVE keypresses
You can mark any one stored route to "accept" SAVE key-
presses. When you mark a route in this way, each time you
press the SAVE key, the 961 automatically adds *SAVEDXX*
waypoints to the route.
To activate a route to accept SAVE keypresses:
1. At the ROUTES screen, press the CURSOR PAD up or
down to highlight the desired route, then press the EDIT
key.
2. At the EDIT THE ROUTE dialog box, press the START
SAVING ROUTE key.
You don't have to display a route on the CHART screen to save
waypoints in it; conversely, displaying a route on the CHART
screen doesn't mean that you're saving waypoints into it. The
two functions work independently. If desired, however, you
can have the 961 display a route and be marked to accept
SAVE keypresses:
1. At the ROUTES screen, press the CURSOR PAD up or
down to select the desired route, then press the ON
CHART key.
2. Press the EDIT key, then press the START SAVING
ROUTE key.
The route is now displayed on the CHART screen and will
also accept SAVE keypresses.
You can sort the routes list by the following:
•
whether a route is marked for display on the CHART
screen
•
whether a route is marked to accept SAVE keypresses
•
name
•
date the route was last modified
•
total distance covered by each route (length)
•
distance to your present position (proximity).
