Chapter 8 - Creating Routes

2. Use the KEYPAD to enter a route name (or use the default
route name), then press the CREATE ROUTE key.
The EDIT NEW ROUTE screen appears.
The EDIT NEW ROUTE screen comprises two sections: The top
half shows the route as you create it, and the bottom half
shows the list of waypoints from which you can choose. At the
top half of the screen, the right side shows a list of the new
route's waypoints and legs—as you add them to the new route;
the left side will show a graphical representation of this
route—as you add points to it. (To the right of the NEXT LEG
column is a red vertical slide bar, which is relative to the size
of the list of waypoints in the route, as you create it. The
smaller the slider, the larger the list; the larger the slider, the
smaller the list. The slider also indicates your position in the
list, i.e. at the top, in the middle, at the bottom, or anywhere
else in between.) The bottom half of this screen displays all the
waypoints in the 961's database; these waypoints are identical
to those shown on the WAYPOINTS screen. Note that if the
961 has no position fix, the DISTANCE and BRG columns will
be completely empty.
