Creating a track
using the start
saving key
961 Operations and Reference Manual Rev. D
With this method, you tell the 961 to immediately start saving
position data to a new track, then tell the 961 when to stop
saving this data (you can only save to one track at a time).
To create a new track at the TRACKS screen:
1. At the TRACKS screen, press the START SAVING key.
A field for the new track appears on the screen.
The START field is set to the present, and the END field is
dashed-out, which means that the 961 is now saving posi-
tion data to this track. In the DESCRIPTION field (not
labelled) at the bottom of the screen, the 961 tells you
that data is being saved to a new track, and updates this
new track's number of positions and range of minutes and
seconds, or hours and days, every five seconds.
2. To stop saving data to this track, press the STOP SAVING
key (turning off the 961 will also stop saving).
The 961 fills in the END field with the present date and
time. The final length of the track is displayed in
user-selected units at the bottom of the screen.
3. To set the desired color, press the NEXT COLOR key to
cycle through a selection of eight different colors.
