Boot Loader Action
• The user sets chassis-role to satellite.
• The system boots up successfully in satellite mode.
• On subsequent reboots, the system will continue to boot up in
satellite mode.
• The user sets chassis-role to standalone.
• The system boots up successfully in standalone mode.
• On subsequent reboots, the system will continue to boot up in
standalone mode.
• The chassis-role value is unchanged from factory-default.
• The system boots up successfully in standalone mode.
• On subsequent reboots, the system will continue to boot up in
standalone mode, if the value of host-type is not set explicitly
(that is, it is set to none).
• The chassis-role value is unchanged from standalone.
• The system boots up successfully in standalone mode.
• On subsequent reboots, the system will continue to boot up in
standalone mode.
The boot loader detects a mismatch and returns an error. Depending
on the context of the boot loader, it will take one of the following
actions.
• If the boot loader is in auto-init, it will retry auto-init to fetch a new
BOF with the correct value for host-type.
• If the boot loader was interrupted to configure the BOF
parameters manually, it will go back to provide an option for the
user to change the value of host-type to the correct value.
• The value of chassis-role is unchanged from standalone.
• The system boots up successfully in standalone mode.
• On subsequent reboots, the system will continue to boot up in
standalone mode if the host-type value is not set explicitly (that
is, the value is set to none).
