Overview of Operating Procedures

This section provides an outline of the procedures for a normal bookbinding job. For more details on
this type of job, refer to Section 3-2 and the following sections, and then proceed with the job.
Turn on the power switch.
The Start-Up screen appears on the touch
panel, followed by the Setup – Bookbinding
Settings screen.
If you want to use the different type of
spine glue, you need to replace the glue
tank and set the notching cutter and PUR
chip cutter.
Wait until the glue in the melt tanks melt
completely.
• It usually takes just under an hour for the glue
in the melt tanks to reach the set-point
temperature.
• Even when the glue is at the set-point
temperature, it is not completely melted if the
Warm-Up screen appears on the touch panel.
Check the safety functions on the
machine.
• Do these checks by following the instructions in
Chapter 2, "Checks Before Operating."
• If you have already done the checks listed in
Chapter 2, "Checks Before Operating", move
on to the next step.
