Cleaning the PUR Tank

With the glue melted, drain off the glue from the drain under the tank.
Have the following items ready:
• Drain for spine glue
• Disposal container (with a capacity of at least
2 liters or 0.5 gal)
• Rag to remove the glue
• Adhesive tape
• Teflon sheet
• Scraper (This is used to remove the solidified
PUR. This cannot be used for melted PUR.)
• If a cardboard box is used, place a number of
sheets in the bottom so that the glue will not
leak out from the gaps.
•The melt tank is heated to a temperature of
about 130°C (250°F). Wear insulating thermo
gloves made of tightly woven cotton to do
this job. Otherwise, you may be burned.
•Toxic gases may be generated when PUR
is used. Wear the protectors
recommended by PUR mannfacturers.
•Do not turn off the power switch until it is
instructed to keep the blower running.

• Tilt the glue tank using the Information - Single
Operation Side Glue/Spine Glue screen.

(2) Push each wiper shaft toward the rear and
remove it.
