This chapter describes how to correct the problem if an error icon is displayed on
the screen. It also covers problems relating to bookbinding quality and machine
operation.

If an Icon Appears on the Error Screen
4-1-1 If an error icon is displayed
If a problem occurs in the machine, it will be detected by one of the sensors. The machine is stopped, and the type of
problem is indicated on the touch panel by an icon. This section explains the meaning of each of these icons.

The sensor in the book block feed section has
detected a foreign object.
Check whether there is a foreign object in the book
block feed section, and press
Next, press the Start button.

The milling cutter and glue rollers will rotate.
Press the Start buttons again to resume bookbinding.
Important!
Check the quality of the book which was stopped
just before the nipping section.
The Emergency Stop button of the book block feed
section has been pressed.
If the Emergency Stop button was pressed while the
machine was stopped, turn the button clockwise and
pull it up to release.

If the button was pressed while the machine was
running and the machine stopped, pull the button up,
and then press
The left cover for the delivery section is open.
If the cover was opened while the machine was
stopped, close the cover to correct the problem.

If it was opened while the machine was running,
close the cover and press
Books have jammed in the delivery section.
Open the cover, remove the books, and then press
on the screen.

A system error has occurred.
Refer to Section 4-1-3 for more information.

The bottom cover for the book block feed section is
open.
If the cover was opened while the machine was

stopped, close the cover to correct the problem.
If it was opened while the machine was running,
close the cover and press
The melt tank is out of position.
Return the melt tank to its position inside the
machine, and press

The bottom cover for the nipping section is open.
If the cover was opened while the machine was
stopped, close the cover to correct the problem.

Cover sheet is remained on the nipping section when
not performing the binding operation. Remove the
cover sheet to correct the problem.

If there was a cover sheet on the nipping section
while not performing binding operation, remove the
cover sheet and press
The Emergency Stop button for the cover feed
section has been pressed.
If the Emergency Stop button was pressed while the
machine was stopped, turn the button clockwise and
pull it up to correct the problem.
If the button was pressed while the machine was
running, and the machine stopped, pull the button
up, and then press
The cover of the cover feed section is open.
If the cover was opened while the machine was
stopped, close the cover to correct the problem.

The right front cover is open.
If the cover was opened while the machine was
stopped, close the cover to correct the problem.
If it was opened while the machine was running,
close the cover and press
The left front cover is open.
