Replacing the Glue
5-14-1 Replacing the EVA spine glue
If the glue has turned yellow or its viscosity has increased, this means that the glue has deteriorated.
With the glue melted, drain off the glue from the side panel of the spine glue tank unit, and add fresh glue.
WARNING
The melt tank is heated to a temperature
of about 200°C (400°F). Wear insulating
thermo gloves made of tightly woven
cotton to do this job. The hot glue can
cause burns.
Have the following items ready:
• Drain for spine glue
• Disposal container (with a capacity of at least
4 liters or 1 gallon).
• Rag to remove the glue
• If a cardboard box will be used, place several
sheets at the bottom so that the glue will not
leak out from the gaps.
Tilt the glue tank.
• Tilt the glue tank using the Information - Single
Operation Side Glue/Spine Glue screen.
Turn the power switch off.

(1) Loosen the locking knob.
(2) Pull the tank unit toward you.
(3) Tighten the locking knob to secure the tank
unit.
