1-2-4 Side Gluing Section

Side Gluing Roller Height
Adjusting Bolt
When these bolts are turned, the tank
height (roller height) changes. Turn the
three bolts by the same amount.
Glue Amount Adjusting Plate
If the side glue is not applied at all or too much glue is
applied, move this plate to adjust the amount of glue.
See page 69 for details.
The plate adjusts
the amount of
glue on this side.
Side Gluing Rollers
These apply glue to the
sides of the spines.
Temperature Controller
This is used to adjust the glue
temperature. The correct temperature is
170°C when HM-403 standard glue is
used.
Cutout
Oil Cup
This lubricates the chain which
turns the side gluing rollers.
Locking
Screw
Locking Screw
Side Gluing Roller (Far Side) Positioning
Plate
This can be used to move the side gluing roller on the
registration side. The roller moves back if the locking
screw is loosened and the plate is turned clockwise.
Move the roller out of the way if side glue is not going to be
applied. If you are going to use side glue, align the cutout
with the center.
Horizon HM-403 is the standard glue used in this section.
Glue Level Upper
Limit
Keep the level of the
liquid glue below this
line. The lower limit is
8 mm (0.32") below the
line.
