Cause and solution
• If lumps of glue are stuck to the nipping
plate, nicks or indentations will be made at
the same locations in each of the spines.

• If there is some foreign matter in the path of
the covers, scratch marks will be made at the
same locations on the covers.

• If lumps of glue are stuck to the conveyor
belt in the delivery section, nicks or
indentations will be made in the spines as
the book blocks drop down.

Cause and solution
• When the side glue on the extra part of book
block sticks on the nipper, the sheet of book
block may be torn or wrinkled by the sticky
nipper.
Match the sizes of book block and cover
