DTC 42 – DRIVER PRETENSIONER INITIATOR CIRCUIT RESISTANCE LOW and 46 – PASSENGER
PRETENSIONER INITIATOR CIRCUIT RESISTANCE LOW
STEP
1
1) With ignition switch OFF, remove center
pillar inner garnish of applicable side
then disconnect seat belt pretensioner
("F" or "G") connector.
2) Check proper connection to applicable
seat belt pretensioner at terminals in "F"
or "G" connector.
3) If OK then connect Special Tool (B) to
seat belt pretensioner ("F" or "G") con-
nector disconnected at the step 1).
4) With ignition switch ON, is DTC 42 or 46
still current?

1) With ignition switch OFF, disconnect
SDM ("A") connector.
2) Check proper connection to SDM at ter-
minals "A11" and "A12" or "A5" and "A6".
3) If OK then measure resistance between
"A11" and "A12" terminals or "A5" and
"A6" terminals with connected Special
Tool (B).
4) Is resistance 1.7

NOTE:
Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform following items.
1) Reconnect all air bag system components, ensure all components are properly mounted.
2) Clear diagnostic trouble codes (Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) CLEARANCE), if any.
3) Repeat AIR BAG DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK to confirm that the trouble has been corrected.

Go to Step 2.
Substitute a known-good
SDM and recheck.
For DTC 46
AIR BAG SYSTEM 10B-35
NO
1) Ignition switch OFF.
2) Replace seat belt preten-
sioner (retractor assem-
bly) (Refer to SECTION
10).
DTC42:
Repair short from "G/O" wire
circuit to "G/Y" wire circuit or
from "G/O" or "G/Y" wire cir-
cuit to other circuit.
DTC46:
Repair short from "Bl/O" wire
circuit to "Bl/Y" wire circuit or
from "Bl/O" or "Bl/Y" wire cir-
cuit to other circuit.
