MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR
REMOVAL
1) Disconnect reservoir lead wire at coupler.
2) Clean outside of reservoir.
3) Take out fluid with syringe or such.
4) Remove reservoir connector pin (2) or retainer (3) and reservoir (1).
INSTALLATION
1) When using new grommets, lubricate them with the same fluid
as the one to fill reservoir with. Then press-fit grommets to mas-
ter cylinder. Grommets must be seated in place.
2) Install reservoir (1) and drive in reservoir pin (2) or retainer (3).
NOTE:
Drive in reservoir pin till both of its ends at the right and left
of reservoir become the same length.
3) Connect reservoir lead wire.
4) Fill brake fluid up to MAX line.
5) Perform air bleeding, referring to AIR BLEEDING OF BRAKE
SYSTEM, and check for fluid leakage.
MASTER CYLINDER ASSEMBLY
REMOVAL
1) Clean outside of master cylinder.
2) Take out fluid from reservoir and master cylinder with syringe or
such.
3) Disconnect negative cable at battery.
4) Disconnect reservoir lead wire (1) at connector.
5) Disconnect brake pipes connected to master cylinder.
CAUTION:
Brake fluid is extremely damaging to paint.
Do not allow brake fluid to get on painted surfaces.
6) Remove master cylinder fixing nuts (2).
7) Remove master cylinder.
DISASSEMBLY
LH steering vehicle
1) Insert a flat head screwdriver under each claw of stopper cap
(1), straighten it and remove stopper cap. As piston in master
cylinder (2) may jump out at this time, be sure to hold stopper
cap.
