SECONDS)

TROUBLESHOOTING
STEP
1
Did you perform ENGINE DIAGNOSIS FLOW
TABLE in SECTION 6?
2
1) Measure resistance of CMP sensor by referring
to CMP SENEOR (PICK UP COIL) RESIS-
TANCE in SECTION 6F1.
Is resistance within specified value?
3
1) With ignition switch at OFF position, disconnect
ECM/PCM electrical connectors.
3) Measure resistance from terminal "A10" to "A9"
of ECM/PCM connector.
Is resistance within 660 – 810
4
1) Remove Distributor cap.
2) Visually inspect CMP sensor signal rotor for
damage.
Was any damage found?
NOTE:
Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE in this sec-
tion and confirm that the trouble has been corrected.

SIS FLOW TABLE in
SECTION 6.
Faulty CMP sensor.
"W" or "B" wire open or
short.
Poor connection of CMP
sensor connector termi-
nal.
Poor connection of ECM/
PCM connector terminal.
If OK, substitute a
known-good ECM/PCM
and recheck CMP.
