TABLE B-3 FUEL PRESSURE CHECK
(C)
Special Tool:
(A): Gauge (09912-58441)
(B): Hose (09912-58431)
(C): 3-way joint (09912-58490)
NOTE:
Before using following flow table, check to make sure that battery voltage is higher than 11V. If battery volt-
age is low, pressure becomes lower than specification even if fuel pump and line are in good condition.
STEP
1
1) Install fuel pressure gauge and operate
fuel pump, referring to FUEL PRESSURE
INSPECTION of FUEL DELIVERY SYS-
TEM in this section.
2) Is fuel pressure then 220-300 kPa (2.2-3.0
2
kg/cm
, 31.3-42.7 psi)?
2
Is 160 kPa (1.6 kg/cm
fuel pressure retained for 1 minute after fuel
pump is stopped in step 1?
3
1) Start engine and warm it up to normal op-
erating temperature.
2) Keep it running at specified idle speed.
3) Is fuel pressure then within 170-230 kPa
(1.7 – 2.3 kg/cm
4
Is there fuel leakage from fuel feed line hose,
pipe or joint?
5
Is fuel pressure measured high in step 1?
6
1) Disconnect fuel return hose from fuel pipe
and connect new hose to it.
2) Put the other end of new return hose into
approved gasoline container.
3) Operate fuel pump.
4) Is specified fuel pressure obtained then?
7
Is no fuel pressure measured in step 1?
