follows.
CAUTION:
After replacing case or bearings for counter shaft and
output shaft, make shim adjustment.
Measure thickness of shim on output shaft side (1) as it is
used as a spacer.
Thickness measured here is referred to as "a".
With dummy spacer (1) (shim on output shaft side) added to
counter side of side cover (2), set parking shaft and install
them in case.
Using a thickness gauge, measure clearance between case
and side cover.
Clearance measured here is referred to as "b".
Standard value for clearance "b":
"a" ~ ("a"–0.2 mm) ["a" ~ ("a"–0.0078 in)]
Example:
Supposing thickness "a" of shim on counter side is 0.8 mm
(0.031 in), acceptable range for clearance "b" would be
0.8–0.6 mm (0.031–0.024 in).
Measure thickness of shim for counter shaft (3) as it is used
as a spacer. Thickness measured here is referred to as "c".
With spacer shim (3) (one on counter side) put in input shaft
side of side cover (4), set parking shaft and install them in
case.
Measure clearance between case and side cover with thick-
ness gauge. Clearance measured here is referred to as "d".
Standard value for clearance "d":
"c" ~ ("c"–0.2 mm) ["c" ~ ("c"–0.0078 in)]
