Fault 88: 48 V Bus Overvoltage – Reel Motor
3
Important:
For this fault, the term "key switch" refers to the 48 V logic power circuit, not to the
ignition switch.
InfoCenter Display:
Fault Description
A reel motor overvoltage fault is reported when the cutting reel motor measures a system voltage greater
than 67.5 V.
A Bus Overvolt fault is declared when the component measures a system voltage under the allowed threshold.
Circuit Description
Each cutting unit has an electric cutting reel motor that contains an internal controller. The internal controller
measures 48 V bus power.
If only 1 cutting reel motor is reporting a bus overvolt fault, the problem is likely to be with the 48 V power
connection to that cutting reel motor.
Recommended Service Actions
Step 1: Verify that the fault repeats.
1.
Clear the system faults from the InfoCenter. Refer to
2.
Operate the machine.
Pass
The fault did not repeat. Go to
Note:
If the fault does not repeat, an isolated event has occurred.
Fail
The fault repeated. Go to Step 2.
Step 2: Swap cutting reel motors between cutting units.
All of the cutting reel motors are identical.
1.
Go
Preparing for Troubleshooting and/or Testing (page 20)
2.
Unplug the 48 V battery disconnect to prevent unexpected cutting unit operation. Refer to
Disconnecting the 48 V Power to the Cutting Reel Motors (page
3.
Swap cutting reel motor 3 with a different cutting unit. You can obtain more information in the cutting reel
motor section of Chapter 6 in the Greensmaster TriFlex 3320/3420 Service Manual.
4.
Plug in the 48 V battery disconnect. Refer to
Cutting Reel Motors (page 18)
5.
Operate the machine.
