1. Hydraulic steering cylinder assembly

3. Verify that the air intake screen is clean and free of debris. Clean the screen as needed.
4. Verify that the generator fan is clean and free of debris. Clean the fan as needed.
5. Verify that air is being drawn through the air intake screen into the S/G.
Note:
To accomplish substeps 3, 4, and 5:
•
If the air intake screen needs to be removed to enable proper cleaning, refer to Chapter 6 of the
3320/3420 Service Manual. Use the applicable parts of the Generator Assembly Service section.
•
If the entire S/G assembly needs to be removed to access the generator fan and airflow channels,
refer to Chapter 6 of the 3320/3420 Service Manual. Use the Removal procedure in either the
Generator Assembly (Greensmaster 3320) section or the Generator Assembly (Greensmaster 3420),
depending on your machine. To install the S/G assembly back into the machine, use the Installation
procedure in either the Generator Assembly (Greensmaster 3320) section, or the Generator Assembly
(Greensmaster 3420) section, depending on your machine.
6. Go to Returning the Machine to Service (page 21)
7. Operate the machine.
Pass The fault did not repeat. Return the machine to service.
Fail The fault repeated. Go to Step 3.
Step 3: Remove the S/G assembly from the machine.
Remove the S/G assembly from the machine. Refer to Chapter 6 of the 3320/3420 Service Manual. Use the
Removal procedure in either the Generator Assembly (Greensmaster 3320) section or the Generator Assembly
(Greensmaster 3420), depending on your machine.
Step 4: Install a replacement starter/generator assembly.
Install a replacement S/G assembly into the machine. Refer to Chapter 6 of the 3320/3420 Service Manual.
Use the Installation procedure in either the Generator Assembly (Greensmaster 3320) section or the Generator
Assembly (Greensmaster 3420), depending on your machine.
