Fault 146: CAN Bus Fault – InfoCenter
InfoCenter Display:
Fault Description
This fault is reported when the primary TEC-5001 controller loses or never established communication with the
InfoCenter.
Circuit Description
The InfoCenter is connected to the 12 V CAN bus, along with the primary TEC-5001.
Recommended Service Actions
Step 1: Verify that the fault repeats.
1. Clear the system faults from the InfoCenter. Refer to

Pass The fault did not repeat. Go to

If the fault does not repeat, an isolated event has occurred.
Fail The fault repeated. Go to Step 2.
Step 2: Determine if the InfoCenter is functioning properly.
1. Start the engine and observe the InfoCenter readouts.
2. Scroll through the screens to verify that the InfoCenter is receiving data.
Pass The InfoCenter is operating normally. Go to Step 3.
Fail The InfoCenter is not functioning. Go to Step 5.
Step 3: Prepare to test the InfoCenter wiring and/or replace the
InfoCenter.
To test the InfoCenter wiring or replace the InfoCenter, remove the console cover as follows:
1. Remove the eight screws that secure the console cover to the underside of the console
