Fault 33: 48 Volt Keyswitch Undervolt –
Reel Motor 1
InfoCenter Display:
Important:
For this fault, the term "keyswitch" refers to the 48 V logic power circuit, not to the
ignition switch.
Note:
If multiple machine faults are reported within a few seconds, troubleshooting should begin with the
first cutting reel motor to report a fault.
Fault Description
A keyswitch undervoltage fault is reported when the cutting reel motor measures the 48 V logic voltage at less
than 32 V.
Circuit Description
Each cutting unit has an electric reel motor that contains an internal controller. The internal controller measures
a steady 48 V signal, called logic power.
If only 1 cutting reel motor is reporting a key switch undervolt fault, the problem is more likely to be with the 48 V
logic power connection to that cutting reel motor.
If more than 1 cutting reel motor is reporting a key switch undervolt fault, the problem is more likely to be
with the 48 V bus voltage.
If more than one device is reporting this fault, check the battery voltage with the engine OFF, and again with
the engine running.
If the battery voltage is good with engine OFF but not ON, check the Starter/Generator.
Recommended Service Actions
Step 1: Verify that the fault repeats.
1.
Clear the system faults from the InfoCenter. Refer to
2.
Operate the machine.
Pass
The fault did not repeat. Go to
Note:
If the fault does not repeat, an isolated event has occurred.
Fail
The fault repeated. Go to Step 2.
Step 2: Check the InfoCenter for the Reels Enable indication.
The Reels Enable indication on the InfoCenter Diagnostics screen identifies whether the TEC-5001 output exists
to energize the 48V Logic relay. This relay provides 48 V logic power to the reel motors and starter/generator.
