Replacing the Drive Motor

1/4" Hex Socket or Flat Blade Screw Driver
7/16" wrench and socket
9/16" wrench and socket
¾" wrench and socket
3/16" Hex wrench or Hex socket
3/32" Hex wrench or Hex socket
Grounding Wrist Strap
Approximate time to complete: 1. hr and 30 min
Elevate the treadmill with the test plug to approximately
15% grade.
Turn the treadmill main power switch to the OFF position.
Unplug the treadmill from the wall receptacle.
Allow the treadmill to discharge for 1 minute.
Remove the (5) hood securing screws.
Remove the hood and set it aside.
CAUTION:
Use ESD precautions, including wearing a grounding
wrist strap that is connected to an exposed metal
connection point on the treadmill chassis.
Remove the Motor Feedback 6 pin cable on J1 from the
drive.
Remove the Motor Power 4 pin cable on TB2 from the drive.
With the ¾" wrench and socket, loosen the belt tension and
slide the belt off the sprocket, allowing the motor to pivot,
gaining access to the motor mount bolts.
With the ¼" hex socket or flat blade screw driver, remove
the (4) ¼" plastic clamps on the Motor Feedback & Power
wires.
With the 7/16" wrench and socket, remove the 4 bolts
securing the motor mount to the frame.
Lift the motor assembly out of the treadmill.
With the 9/16" wrench and socket, remove the pivot bolt.
Remove drive sprocket from the motor shaft by loosening
the two 3/32" set screws on its hub, then slide it off.
Remove the flywheel from the motor shaft by loosening the
two 3/16" set screws on its hub, then slide it off.
