9.12 Software Installation to the Own Module

• Do not install by combining [instnew] and [instboot] from motion software packages of different versions.
• If the installation could not be completed normally due to an error detected after starting the installation, the
RUN LED goes off, and the PROGRAM LED and CARD READY LED flash (at 200 [ms] intervals). Solve the
error, and retry installation.
• If the boot software update could not be completed normally, the RUN LED goes off and the ERR LED goes
off or flashes (at 200 [ms] intervals) even when the power supply of the motion system is turned ON, and the
Motion module may not be recognized. In that case, insert the SD memory card where the boot software is
stored to the SD memory card slot of the Motion module, and power ON the motion system while pressing
the SD memory card use stop switch. If the ERR LED flashes (at 200 [ms] intervals), release your hand
from the SD memory card use stop switch and power OFF and ON the motion system after five minutes or
more have passed to recover the boot software. To recover the boot software, temporarily change the
system configuration so that the overall system startup time is within 15 seconds, and then perform the
above procedure.
• The SD memory card forced stop function is unavailable while installation from the SD memory card is in
progress. Do not remove the SD memory card while installation is in progress.
• The READY signal [X0] and synchronization flag [X1] will not turn ON while installation from the SD memory
card is in progress.

Remedy
Wait until the installation is complete.
Power OFF  ON the motion system, and check if RUN/
STOP of the CPU module can be performed normally.
Power OFF  On the motion system, and execute the
installation again.
