For the following parameterization the EK280 power supply must first be switched off.
7.1.6.3.3 Opening the customer lock
In order for ComFTP to read data from the EK280 and save it on the server, at least one EK280 lock must be
permanently open. For this purpose it is recommended to use the customer lock, as this contains the least
write permissions and therefore avoids the risk of unauthorized parameter updates.
Move the cursor to the "Serv." tab in the EK280's display, then to
(customer lock status).

If "locked" is displayed under

7.1.6.3.4 Parameterization of the EK280 for operation with a ComFTP modem
i
For parameterization of the EK280 you need a connection cable for the optical interface as well
as the enSuite program. enSuite can be downloaded free of charge from the Honeywell website
in the "Software Downloads" section:
www.elster-instromet.com/en/software-downloads
In order to parameterize the ComFTP modem, you also need a USB parameterization cable
(Honeywell Order No.: 730 20 481) for connection to the modem parameterization interface
(located on the EK280 CPU board) or a functioning GSM/CSD connection. The settings in the
ComFTP modem can be made with enSuite V3.4 or higher.
Information regarding the USB modem configuration cable
If this cable is plugged into the modem configuration cable ( Fig. 9, p. 74), then the connection
between the EK280 and modem is interrupted (parameterization mode). The EK is unable to
exchange any data with the modem when in this state.
a) Closing the time windows
In order that the parameterization works correctly the time windows 1 to 4 must be closed. To do this:
Connect a PC or laptop with enSuite installed to the EK280 optical interface using the connection
cable.
Start enSuite and set up the communication link to the EK280 using the optical interface.
