Connect the modem plug back to the power supply.
i
There are two plugs on the modem board for the power supply to the modem ( Fig. 6). Always
connect the battery or the internal power pack to the plug labeled with "battery", otherwise the
modem will not work.
The plug labeled with "Uext" is provided for future enhancements and cannot currently be used.

7.1.2.2 Inserting the SIM card into the modems "ECM-2G-UG350" and "ECM-2G-UU270"
If one of the ECM-2G-UG350 (GSM/GPRS) or "ECM-3G-UU270" (UMTS) modems is installed in the EK280

For the EK280 with internal power supply, the mains voltage must be switched off before opening
the housing.
Danger!
For EK280 with internal power supply, the mains voltage must be switched off before
opening the housing, ensure it is not turned back on and verify that there is no voltage.
Remove the four screws from the top of the EK280 and open it.
Unplug the modem from the power supply to avoid damage to the modem and SIM card. This
applies also to an EK280 with power supply which is disconnected from the mains, in case a back-up
battery supply is connected!
i
When the EK280 is used for the first time, the plug for the power supply is not yet connected to
the modem. It has not been connected at the factory in order to avoid an unnecessary load on
the battery!
