10.3

Procedure when commissioning the drive for the first time

This Chapter describes the steps that are necessary to commission the safety functions
integrated in the system. The drive-integrated safety function "Safe Operating Stop" (SH) is
also used for the safety functions integrated in the system. As a consequence, a minimum
configuration of the drive-based safety function is required. The SH function itself does not
have to be enabled, but possibly a required brake control (SBC) must be parameterized.
Commissioning SH/SBC/SS1 via the terminal control is described in detail in Chapter "Safety
Functions integrated in the drive (Page 51)".
It is advisable to commission the machine so that at least the axes can be moved. The safety
monitoring functions can then be immediately tested after SI data has been entered. This type
of test is absolutely essential in order to detect any data entry errors.
The following steps must be taken in the specified sequence for commissioning:
