Flight Management System (FMS) for the Agusta AW139/AB139 Helicopter
Build a Flight Plan by Entering Waypoints
When a destination is entered at 3R, the FMS searches for stored flight
plans with the same origin and destination, as shown in Figure 7--1.
When any flight plans are found, the FLIGHT PLAN LIST page is
displayed. Selecting the RETURN prompt at 1R returns to the active
flight plan to permit input of waypoints. When no flight plan is found
during the search, the active flight plan is displayed and the FMS is
ready for waypoint input, as shown in Figure 7--6. When building a flight
plan, waypoints are entered on the line showing the VIA.TO prompt (2L
through 5L). The FMS accepts a variety of inputs at the VIA.TO prompt
as described in the following paragraphs.
Waypoint -- Any waypoint contained in the navigation database or
D
the custom database is permitted to be entered. When a not yet
defined waypoint name is entered, a page for waypoint definition is
automatically displayed. The waypoint is defined and the RETURN
prompt is used to get back to the flight plan. When the waypoint
name was entered in error, the RETURN prompt is used without a
definition being entered.
Temporary Waypoint -- Any temporary waypoint is permitted to be
D
entered.
