Flight Management System (FMS) for the Agusta AW139/AB139 Helicopter
3L -- The height--velocity hover limit (HV HT) is the minimum safe
D
hover height above ground level (AGL) when an engine fails and is
displayed at 3L. NO HV is displayed when the computed density
altitude is less than the maximum hover altitude (Hdmax).
Otherwise, HV HT is displayed (in feet) and no pilot entry is
permitted.
The minimum safe hover height is determined by Agusta
performance tables using gross weight and density altitude.
3R -- The height--velocity flyaway limit (FLYAWAY HT LOSS) is the
D
altitude loss that occurs when the helicopter flies away from hover
following an engine failure and achieves a stable altitude flying on
a single engine and is displayed at 3R. The flyaway height loss is
determined from Agusta performance tables using density altitude
and OAT.
When the FLYAWAY HT LOSS altitude is greater than the current
radio altitude, the FLYAWAY HT LOSS altitude is displayed in
reverse video and no pilot entry is permitted.
4L (Performance Data Page 1) -- The best range speed (BST
D
RANGE SPD) is displayed in KIAS at 4L. Best range speed is the
speed at which the aircraft achieves the best range for the average
gross weight, pressure altitude, and OAT.
When the hook load is greater than zero, the best range speed is
limited to 90 knots.
4L (Performance Data Page 2) -- The current range speed (CUR
D
RANGE SPD) is displayed in KIAS at 4L. No pilot entry is permitted.
4R (Performance Data Page 1) -- The best range distance (BST
D
RANGE DIST) is displayed in nautical miles (NM) at 4R. Best range
distance is the estimated distance en route (or best range) achieved
when the aircraft is flown at BST RANGE SPD displayed at 4L. No
pilot entry is permitted.
4R (Performance Data Page 2) -- The current range distance (CUR
D
RANGE DIST) is displayed in NM at 4R. No pilot entry is permitted.
5L (Performance Data Page 1) -- The best endurance speed
D
(BEST ENDUR SPD) is displayed in KIAS at 5L. Best endurance
speed is the speed at which the helicopter achieves the best
endurance for the average gross weight, pressure altitude, and
OAT. The best endurance speed is obtained from Agusta
performance tables using average gross weight, pressure altitude,
and OAT. No pilot entry is permitted.
