Catalyst 2950 and 2955 Cisco IOS Commands

persistence

Use the persistence interface configuration command to set the amount of delay before the link reports
a link failure. Use the no form of this command to return to the default setting.
This command is available only on Catalyst 2950 Long-Reach Ethernet (LRE) switches.

The default is enabled, and the duration is 3 seconds.

Usage Guidelines
Enter the persistence interface configuration command before the link enters the profile link-up mode.
If the link is already in the profile link-up mode when you enter this command, the new value does not
go into effect immediately. Instead, it becomes effective after the profile link goes down and comes back
up.
Examples:
This example shows how to establish a delay of 1 second before the link reports a failure:
Switch(config)# interface longreachethernet0/1
Switch(config-if)# persistence 1
You can verify your settings by entering the show controllers lre status privileged EXEC command.
