Configuration Manual
CIU 888
Description
This setting refers to Liquid to Volume Ratio.
In some tanks (pressurized) the room above
the product is filled with vapour which, in con-
densed form, would take a certain amount of
product (volume). This volume can be calcu-
lated.
Typical values for LiqVolRatio with various
products, measured at the standard ProdTRef
of 15C or 60F, are:
Ethane 293.3 Cis-Butene-2 255.9 Butane
229.5
Propene 288.3 Trans-Butene-2 248.9 ISO-
Pentane 193.7
Propane 266.7 ISO-Butene 245.0 Pentane
194.8
Butene-1 245.2 ISO-Butane 221.9
If the gas is a mixture of above products,
LiqVolRatio can easily be calculated from the
appropriate factors, according to the contribu-
tion of each gas component.
Molar weight of the gas composition.
In some tanks (pressurized) the room above
the product is filled with vapour which, in con-
densed form, would take a certain amount of
product (volume).
This volume can be calculated.
Typical values for MolarWeight (expressed in
kg/kmol) with various products, measured at
the standard ProdTRef of 15 C or 60 F, are:
Ethane 30.070
Propane 44.097
Butane 58.124
ISO-Butane 58.124
Pentane 72.151
ISO-Pentane 72.151
MolarWeight is used with the calculation of:
• LiqVap, using the molar method according to:
-ISO/TC28/SC3 N411 (molar method)
-ISO 6578
-API research Project 44
3 - 60
