Configuration Manual
CIU 888
Description
This indicates the byte (8-
bit) order within a 16-bit
word in which data is
exposed by the field device.
There can be 2 formats in
which data can be exposed
(i) LSB first (ii) MSB first.
Based on this configuration
CIU interprets the data and
converts it to its internal data
format.
Note: This refers the
endianess of the received
data at byte level. LSB first
refer to Little Endian and
MSB first refers to Big
Endian.
This indicates the word (16-
bit) order within a 32-bit long
word in which data is
exposed by the field device.
There can be 2 formats in
which data can be exposed
(i) LSW first (ii) MSW first.
Based on this configuration
CIU interprets the data and
converts it to its internal data
format.
Note: This indicates the
endianess of the received
data at word level. LSW first
refer to Little Endian and
MSW first refers to Big
Endian.
Some Modbus field device
scales the data it exposes to
the Modbus host. Hence this
parameter indicates the
scaling factor used in the
exposed data from the field
device so that CIU can de-
scale the retrieved value.
If Scaling and offset are not
applicable then this tag can
be left empty
Possible Values

MSB_First
