Description
CTL (Correction for the effect of Tempera-
ture for Liquid)
Historical known as VCF (Volume
Correction).
With special products CTL can be entered
manually
Normally, CTL will be calculated according
to ASTM/API procedures
Product Temperature Correction Factor
(TCF).
Normally, VCF is calculated, using the
ASTM/API tables.
The TCF method provides an alternative
for this calculation.
The TCF is used to calculate the CTL with
Chemical Products.
Product Density Correction Factor (DCF).
The DCF is used to calculate [DObs] with
Chemical Products.
This setting indicates the type of the den-
sity input.
Selection: (Reference density | Sample
density and temperature | N.A.)
Based on the selected GSV Calculation
type, Service tool provides options for this
setting.
Sample density refers to density data
obtained from a manual sample. Sample
density always needs to be provided in
combination with the sample temperature.
Sample temperature is not the tempera-
ture of the sample when it was taken, but
the temperature when the density was
determined (for example using a hydrom-
eter).
The hydrometer correction is needed
when the density of the sample is deter-
mined using a 'glass' hydrometer. This
correction corrects the thermal expansion
of the glass of the hydrometer.
