CRANKCASE/CRANKSHAFTITRANSMISSION/BALANCER
Align the hose guide
groove with the
crankcase
boss.
Connect the transmission breather hose to the righ t
crankcase.
Install the hose guide and tighten the bolt.
Install the remaining pans In the reverse order of
removal.
For installation of the removed parts for crankcase
service (page 13-3).
TRANSMISSION
OISASSEMBL Y
Separate the crankcase halves (page 13-10),
Temporarily install the right crankcase on the left
crankcase.
Place the right crankcase facing down and separate the
right and left crankcase halves.
Remove the shift fork shafts.
Remove the shift fork guide pins from the gearshift
drum grooves, and remove the gearshift drum.
Remove the shift forks.
HOSE
Remove the mainshaft and countershaft assembly from

the right crankcase.

Disassemble the transmission:
Keep track of the disassembled parts (gears.
bushings. needle bearing. thrust washers, and snap
rings) by sliding them onto a tool or a piece of wire.
Do
not expand the snap ring more than necessary
for removal. To remove a snap ring, expand the
snap ring and pull it off uSing the gear behind it.
