FUEL SYSTEM (PGM-FI)
FUEL PRESSURE TEST
NOT E:
Make sure there is one liter or more of fuel remaining in
the fuel tank before starting fuel pressure test.
Relieve the fuel pressure (page 6-40).
Disconnecl l he quick connect fitting from the fuel pump
side (page 6-41).

'12: Connect the fuel pump 5P (Black) connector.
After
'12:
Connect
the fuel pump 2P (Black) connector.
Attach the fuel pressure gauge, hoses, attachment joint
and manifold between the fuel pump and quick
connector.

Connect the 12 V battery.

Support
the
fuel tank in an upright position onto the L _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ __ __ _ .J
frame then remove the hose clamp from the breather
hose.
Tum the ·PUMp· selector switch ON.
Read the fuel pressure.
Standard : 333 - 360 kPa (3.4 - 3.7
kgflcm ~,
48 - 52
psi)
If the fuel pressure is higher than specified. replace the
fuel pump assembly (faulty fuel pump or fuel pressure
regulator).
If the fuel pressure is lower than specifted, inspect the
following:
- Fuel line leaking
- Restricted fuel hose or fuel tank breather hose
- Fuel pump (page 6-51)
- Clogged fuel strainer screen (Faulty fuel pump
assembly)
'09:
After inspection . disconnect the battery harness.
After '09:
After inspection, disconnect the battery harness and
connect the OLC/fuel pump sub harness 4P (Red)
connector.

Relieve the fuel pressure by starting the engine and let
it idle until it stalls (page 6-40).
Remove the fuel pressure gauge. hose attachments.
attachment joint and manifold.
Connect the quick connect fitting to the fuel pump side
(page 6--45).
