SWINGARM/SHOCK LINKAGE
Raise the rear wheel off the ground by placing a
worksland or equivalent under the engine.
Check for worn swingarm bearings by grabbing the rear
end of the swingarm and attempting to move the
swingarm side-to-side.
Replace the bearings if excessively worn (page 15-45).
Check the shock linkage and replace any damaged
needle bearings.
Disassemble, clean, inspect the swingarm and shock
linkage pivot bearings and related seals every three
races or about
7.5
hours of operation (page 15-38).
Lubricate and reassemble them.
NUTS,BOLTS,FASTENERS
Check thai atl chassis nuts and bolts are lightened to
their correct torque values (page 1-13).
Check thai all safety clips, hose clamps and cable stays
are in place and properly secured .
WHEELSITIRES
Raise the front wheel off the ground by placing a , - - - - - - -
worl<.stand or equivalent under the engine.
Hold the fronl fori<. leg and move Ihe front wheel
sideways with force to see If the wheel bearings are
worn .
