8.8.9 OPC Interface

The Vertex M presents the gas alarm, fault status and gas concentration using OPC interface.
The OPC services by FactoryTalk Linx Gateway are automatically initialized at startup of the
application, enabling the Vertex M to act as an OPC Server. The user may connect to the
Network interface Cards RJ45 Port at the rear of the data Acquisition System. See "Data
Acquisition Computer (rear)" on page 19 for more information. The Vertex M contains 1331
OPC tags as listed in Table 8-7. Tag Names. Many of these are present for historical reasons
and have low utility for an external HMI system. The column "recommended for most HMI
systems" is provided to help separate the useful from the obscure. The number of
recommended tags is 317.
