Application

PCGAPC counts externally generated binary pulses, for example, pulses coming from
an external energy meter, for the calculation of energy consumption values. The
pulses are captured by the binary input module and read by PCGAPC with a frequency
of up to 40 Hz. The number of pulses in the counter is then reported via the station bus
to the substation automation system or read via the station monitoring system as a
service value. When using IEC 61850, a scaled service value is available over the
station bus.
