Pass The machine started and the fault did not repeat. Go to
and follow the steps listed.
Fail The fault repeated. Go to Step 3.
Step 3: Test the ignition switch using the InfoCenter.
Perform the following steps to test the ignition switch using the InfoCenter
1. Turn the ignition key to the O
2. On the InfoCenter, press the left button as needed to display the Main Menu.
3. Press the center button as needed to highlight the Diagnostics item.
4. Press the right button to display the Diagnostics menu.
5. Press the center button as needed to highlight the Engine Start item.
6. Press the right button once to display the Engine Start menu.
Note:
The Inputs item is selected when the Engine Start menu appears.
7. Press the right button to display the Inputs menu.
Note:
On the Inputs menu, you should see the Key Start item displayed. Because the ignition key is in
the O position, the Key Start item status reads O

8. Turn the ignition switch to the S
and then release the switch.
Note:
If the ignition switch is working correctly, the Key Start item status changes from O
then back to O
FF
9. Turn the ignition switch to the O
1. Indicator light
2. Right button: press it to open a menu where a right arrow
indicates additional content.
Pass The ignition switch passed the InfoCenter testing. Go to
and follow the steps listed.
Fail The ignition switch failed the InfoCenter testing. Go to Step 4.
Step 4: Test the ignition switch and circuit wiring manually.
1. Refer to the 5010-H Service Manual, Chapter 5, Component Testing section, Ignition Switch for
instructions on how to manually test the switch.
