Fault 99: 48V Bus Overvolt—M/G
InfoCenter Display:
Fault Description
System bus voltage over 65 Vdc has disabled the generator. A Bus Overvolt indicates the 48 Vdc bus circuit
has exceeded an over-voltage set point (65 Vdc).This fault causes the motor to disable.
Circuit Description
The motor/generator controller monitors the 48V bus voltage.
Conditions for Setting the Fault
The 48 Vdc bus circuit has exceeded an over-voltage set point (65 Vdc).
Note:
This fault can also occur if the TEC-5002 loses communication with the motor/generator and reverts
to limp mode. When the TEC-5002 loses communication, it loses engine speed control, and the mechanical
governor limits engine speed to 3,200 rpm.
Recommended Service Actions
Step 1: Verify that the fault repeats.

Operate the machine.
Pass
The fault did not repeat. Go to

If the fault does not repeat, an isolated event has occurred.
Fail
The fault repeated. Go to Step 2.
Step 2: Determine the troubleshooting strategy.
If only the motor/generator is reporting a 48V Bus Overvolt, the problem is more likely to be with the 48 Vdc bus
connection to the motor/generator. Go to Step 3.
If more than 1 cutting reel motor and the motor/generator are reporting a 48V Bus Overvolt, the problem is more
likely to be with the 48 Vdc bus voltage. Perform the Recommended Service Actions for fault 30.
Step 3: With the engine shut off, check the 48 Vdc battery system.
