Connection Terminology
Pins are the metal contacts contained inside a connector housing.
Terminals are the exposed metal tabs or posts that are not contained inside a connector housing. Terminals
are most often a part of a component. Examples of terminals include threaded posts and solder cups. Often,
crimp lugs (e.g., rings, hooks, forks, etc.) are attached to terminals by tightening a nut or a screw.
Fault
A fault is composed of a numeric code (fault code) and a description.
A fault is intended to help identify the source of problems for diagnostic troubleshooting.
An active fault is displayed on the InfoCenter while the fault condition is present until you clear the fault or
you turn the machine off. All faults are archived in and accessible from the nonvolatile memory of the Toro
electronic controller (TEC).
