Fault Description
This fault indicates a failure associated with the precharge circuit that charges the bus capacitance prior to
closing the 48 Vdc line contactor.
Circuit Description
When the ignition key is turned to the O
the time it takes to become fully charged.
Conditions for Setting the Fault
The minimum voltage of 38 Vdc on the 48 Vdc precharge circuit was not achieved. Functionality is built into the
motor/generator to detect cutting reel motor faults on the 48 Vdc bus.
This fault is used to detect the reverse polarity of a cutting reel motor or a shorted 48 Vdc power bus within any
of the 48 Vdc electric components or wire harnesses.
Recommended Service Actions
Step 1: Verify that the fault repeats.
1.
Clear the system faults from the InfoCenter. Refer to
2.
Operate the machine.
Pass
The fault did not repeat. Go to
Note:
If the fault does not repeat, an isolated event has occurred.
Fail
The fault repeated. Go to Step 2.
Step 2: Determine if the problem is in a cutting reel motor or the
main wire harness.
1.
Disconnect the cables for all 5 cutting reel motors from the machine.
2.
Attempt to start the engine.
Note:
If the engine starts while all 5 cutting reel motors are disconnected, 1 of the cutting reel motors
