The fault repeats.
Symptoms changed.
Step 3: Test the glow relay wiring.
Use a multimeter to test the following pair of locations:

The wiring tested good. Go to Step 4.
Fail
The wiring did not test good. Repair or replace defective wiring as needed. Go to
Machine to Service (page 22)
Step 4: Swap the primary TEC with a known good unit.
Note:
TEC controllers are programmed to specific machine model and serial numbers. TEC controllers do not
function until programmed by Toro DIAG.
There are three procedures that you need to accomplish as part of replacing a TEC. Refer to
Electronic Controller (TEC) (page
1.
Use Toro DIAG to save the machine timers and counters file out of the machine. (page 26)
2.
Replace the TEC-5002. (page 26)
3.
Use Toro DIAG to Program the TEC-5002. (page 27)
The fault no longer
repeats.
The fault still repeats.
Component Location and Electrical Connections
The glow relay is attached to a frame bracket under the hood near the engine exhaust muffler alongside the
main power relay. A tag near the relay harness connector identifies the glow relay.
If fault 37 repeats, swap connectors P04 and P20 back to the original positions
and go to Step 3.
If the symptoms changed, the glow relay is bad. Replace the glow relay. Swap
connectors P04 and P20 back to the original positions. Go to
Machine to Service (page 22)
